Bespoke Enquiry Form

Bespoke Commissions: Design Fees & Cancellation

The £50 design fee

Before consultation and design development begin, we charge a £50 design fee.

This covers the initial consultation and agreed design development, which may include drawings, digital renders and refinements appropriate to your commission.

If you proceed with the jewellery commission, the £50 is credited towards its total price.

The fee pays for the agreed design service. It does not require you to purchase the finished jewellery, and it does not include unlimited revisions. Any additional design work and charges will be agreed with you before that work begins.

Scheduling your design consultation

Once we’ve reviewed your enquiry, we’ll be in touch to discuss your ideas and arrange a consultation at a time that suits you. Together, we’ll explore the design, materials, budget and timeframe. You don’t need a fully formed idea, we’ll guide you through the possibilities.

Rescheduling & cancelling your design service

If you book the design service online, by email or by telephone, you will need to form us at least 24 hours prior to your design consultation in order to cancel and receive a full refund.

To reschedule please inform us at least 24 hours prior to your design consultation booking.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, Cervo Studio, your design fee will not be refunded, unless at Cervo Studio's absolute discretion.

Approving your jewellery commission

Before you commit to the jewellery order, we will confirm in writing:

  • The agreed design and specifications.
  • The metal, gemstones and any personalisation.
  • The size or measurements supplied.
  • The total price and payment arrangements.
  • The agreed production and delivery timeframe.
  • The cancellation terms applicable to your piece.

Please check these details carefully and raise any questions before approving the order.

Production begins after approval and receipt of the agreed payment.

Cancelling bespoke or personalised jewellery

Jewellery genuinely made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised is normally excluded from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right that applies to many online purchases.

We will tell you before you order if this exclusion applies to your commission. A piece is not automatically excluded simply because it is made after an order is placed or selected from standard options.

If you wish to cancel an accepted bespoke jewellery order, contact us as soon as possible. We will review whether cancellation is possible and explain any reasonable charge for work completed or unavoidable losses arising from the cancellation.

Any amount retained will reflect the circumstances, including costs we can recover or avoid. We will refund any remaining balance and will not charge twice for the same work or loss.

Changes after approval

Please contact us promptly if you wish to change an approved design.

Changes may affect the price and delivery date, and some may no longer be possible once production has begun. We will explain the available options and obtain your agreement to any additional costs before carrying out further work.

If we cannot complete your commission

If Cervo Studio cannot provide the agreed design service or complete your jewellery commission, we will contact you promptly to discuss the appropriate remedy, including any refund due.

You do not have to accept an alternative design or materials in place of those agreed.

Faults and your statutory rights

Bespoke and personalised jewellery must still be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Design services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Please contact us if your piece has a fault, differs from the agreed specification or you have concerns about the service provided.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

How to cancel or raise a concern

Email admin@cervostudio.com with your name, commission reference if available, and a clear statement that you wish to cancel or discuss your commission.

You do not need to provide a reason when exercising a statutory cancellation right.

Where a refund is due following statutory cancellation of the design service, it will be made without undue delay and within 14 days of your cancellation notice, using your original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
